My Nose Turns Red Theatre Company exists
to educate the public about the clown in culture, increasing the audience awareness of the art form,
 and to provide communities the opportunity to celebrate the experience."

We fulfill our mission with programming that focuses on the rich comic theatrical traditions of a multitude of cultures.  These are wondrous traditions to be treasured and preserved, not only because of their influence on modern theatre, art and culture, but also because they speak to a simple and universal truth -

Laughter is good for the body and soul.

We believe in the transforming power of art, especially when joined with smiles and laughter.  My Nose Turns Red Theatre Company's programming focuses on youth.  Clown Theatre is a powerful way to touch the hearts and souls of children.

Our main program is quite unique.  It is a Youth Circus Program!  Each year, My Nose Turns Red teaches circus to more than 150 children.  They find themselves succeeding at amazing things - walking on globes, unicycling, walking the tight-wire, juggling and more more.  They discover the clown within themselves.  They discover that they have the power to make others smile, to bring joy and love to other people's lives.  They learn team-work and build self-confidence.  They get to

run away and join the circus,
without leaving home.

The highlight of the Youth Circus Program is the annual presentation of The New Millennium Circus Holiday Extravaganza at the Aronoff Center for the Arts where 40 area children ages 6-18 perform amazing feats and comic routines.  As one mother said,

"it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that my child gets to do every year."

In addition to the Youth Circus Program, My Nose Turns Red Theatre Company conducts a variety of educational drama programs in schools and libraries that focus on multi-cultural folktales and mime, as well as the Theatrical Clown.  Our programming reaches more than 20,000 individuals each year.
