Drama/Theater residencies provide an in-depth experience for your students.
All residency projects begin with creative dramatics and conclude with a
performance by your students. Many include mask-making. Residency
projects are varied and are chosen to meet the school's curriculum needs.
Projects are chosen to fit in with what is being studied in the class .
Residency projects support Social Studies, Language, etc.
Residencies can be as short as one week and as long as nine months.
Projects can focus on multi-cultural folktales, works of literature, or
Renaissance Fairs.
"Steve Roenker of My Nose Turns Red worked with our students for two different
projects and the students love him! Our deaf students enjoy his kind of
physical theatre and they are able to easily apply conceptually what they've
learned in both performance and in assessment."
- Paula Meckes,
7th & 8th Grade
Social Studies Teacher
Kentucky School for the Deaf
Residencies are conducted by My Nose Turns Red's Director, Steve Roenker, who
has more than 25 years experience as an arts educator and is a Kentucky Arts
Council roster artist. He would be delighted to work with your students on one
or more of the projects below. However, he will also work with teachers
on a customized project.
